Come and learn how to plant your very own living willow structure or hedge for your garden in a country setting that will relax you as well as be very enjoyable! British-grown willow provided and all the necessary tools and information.

We will show you how to start a living willow structure such as an arbour and tunnel as well hedges  in your own garden and on the day you will make a small structure (arbour or/and tunnell depending on time available) to replicate at home in your own garden. The afternoon will also be hands-on and we will be planting a living willow hedge and discuss the various designs you can achieve as well as the best soil, where to plant willow, the different types of willow and their colours as well as  maintenance and care.

Learn how to grow & cook chillies is a workshop that is huge fun! This is a fiery taste workshop! Come and learn how to grow and cook and eat chillies from around the world. Chillies need a long growing season, so you need to start now.

We teach you how to sow your chilli seeds and how to look after these precious beautiful plants as they grow. We will choose chillies from around the world, from sweet to hot. We will also sow the sweet peppers we all love and that can be used in salads, stews or stuffed with a variety of cheeses; they are so easy to grow.

You get to choose which chillies you want to sow, how to look after them and we show you how to ensure they germinate with lots of tips and ideas to replicate at home.

We discuss the choice you have and the varieties to grow &  use in the kitchen. You will also be cooking some recipes with chillies, this is a hands-on day!

In this Spring course we start afresh with what can be grown during Spring – we demonstrate sowing and planting for this year but also what to plant for next year already!

We talk about inter-cropping, successional planting, rotation of the crops and perennial vegetables too. Let’s not forget fruit and what bounties you can still plant up to get a summer crop.

This workshop is the start of the your growing year and we go through planting plans and the design of your garden whether it is large, small or in pots.

If gardening is new to you or you just need to brush up on techniques and processes then join us for a series of practical workshops every two months where we share with you the seasonal tasks you can do in the garden. These workshops encompass the whole of the garden such as trees, hedges, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, annuals, bulbs, herbs and fruit and veg.

Try out all our tips and ideas, and learn from the knowledge we have gathered over the years to ensure you feel confident and enjoy your garden every month of the year. Small gardens, larger gardens and gardening in pots and containers are all covered. The latest scientific research and findings are discussed.

In this workshop we will include, lawn care, soil preparation for planting, seed sowing under protection , preparing for staking, annuals to sow outside, pruning, vegetables. See below for further information.

Come and learn how to grow a flower garden for beginners, but even if you are not a beginner, you can gain a lot from this as we incorporate herbs and foliage from the wider garden and give individual attention to everyone for their own plot. One of life’s greatest pleasures! Creating a flower garden to grow and pick your own flower display is THE way to have flowers  nearly all year round. We will also discuss and show you which edible flowers you can grow for your cooking!

Learn the art of willow weaving garden stakes and obelisks. Join us for a day of learning to create beautiful willow & hazel plant stakes  for your garden – try your hand at making one obelisk and a one willow perennial circle and one half circle stakes.  Learn the basics of willow weaving an obelisk to make a beautiful statement in your garden. We will also be using hazel, beech and berry fruit canes, as well as cones  to add to your creations for added impact. Demonstration and hands-on work to create your own beautiful and practical sculptures.
